Renew 2023

March 6-10, 2023 in Scottsdale, Arizona

Join us in Scottsdale, Arizona for five days of rest and renewal at the Franciscan Renewal Center. Be renewed in relationship with other likeminded leaders.

This event begins Tuesday afternoon with lunch and a light conversation.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are yours to hike trails, meditate in the gardens, relax by the pool, attend MLB Spring Training, or explore the Phoenix area. Launchpad will curate some options for engaging in self-guided and leader facilitated prayer practices and meditation throughout. Everything will be optional. This is your time to choose what you need to rest and recharge.

Our time will conclude Thursday evening.

You are welcome to arrive as early as Monday and leave as late as Friday afternoon. Your rate will vary based on occupancy and your length of stay. Most meals are included with your lodging. Choose from a double or single room.

Book early as availability at the Center is limited and March is a peak season. If rooms fill up, Launchpad has a block of rooms at a nearby hotel. Email Aaron for more information.

What COVID measures is The Franciscan Renewal Center taking?

They’ve sent Launchpad the following information:

In addition to our rigorous safety protocols regarding disinfection of our campus which includes guest rooms, all public areas especially high-touch points, we continue to follow the CDC guidelines at the Franciscan Renewal Center.  Anyone who is fully vaccinated is welcome to be anywhere on the Casa campus without wearing a mask or physically distancing.  We strongly encourage guests to wear masks while indoors for the safety of others.

If you aren’t fully vaccinated yet, please keep taking all precautions while at the Casa until you are fully vaccinated.

We honor and respect those who choose to wear masks for their own reasons or who are still needing to be fully vaccinated.

All guests will need to sign a Covid Wavier Form at check-in.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the retreat?

It’s a 20 minute Uber/Lyft ride from the Phoenix airport to the Franciscan Renewal Center. Hiking trails, shopping and other options for things to do off-site are all 10-20 minutes away by Uber/Lyft as well. Some locals may be available to help with transportation if needed. Free parking is available for guests at The Casa (the lodging section of the Franciscan Renewal Center).

What are my lodging options?

The Casa offers double rooms with two full beds or single rooms with one bed. Handicap accessible rooms may be available if needed. All rooms feature private, ensuite baths, wifi on campus and access to the outdoor pool. Check in is 4pm and check out is 10am. Launchpad suggests you stay for 3 or 4 nights (Monday-Friday). View a map of the Renewal Center campus here.

What meals are included with my booking?

The Center prepares most of our meals. All meals are Chef’s choice and served buffet style in the Casa dining room with Covid-19 precautions in place. Dietary needs can be arranged prior to arrival by emailing Jennifer Fisher. Meals are served at 8am-9am (breakfast), 12pm-1pm (lunch), 6pm-7pm (dinner). Alcohol is not allowed on the Center campus, but Launchpad will arrange for opportunities for evening drinks off-site. We also hope to host a poolside picnic on an evening when the most participants are available.

Will there be any programming during the retreat?

This retreat is focused on rest and relationship, so while we will offer some programming, it will be very light. We want you to feel comfortable to use this retreat as you need it most. Come with your full staff or a colleague or come on your own. Use it as a meetup with other pastors and leaders you’ve been wanting to see. You can socialize as little or as much as you like. Launchpad will reserve some meeting spaces, but small meeting rooms are also available to rent for a small fee if you would like to meet with your own team. Use this time for your personal needs, but enjoy the benefit of relaxing in community with like-minded colleagues across the country in your down time.
