Jennifer Fisher is the former Associate Pastor of Forefront Church Brooklyn. She co-founded that community in 2011/2012 first as a volunteer, then a part-time staff member, and became Associate Pastor in 2014. Forefront is a progressive interdenominational community that was founded by a conservative evangelical church planting network. Over the course of their journey, the staff of Forefront led their community through the process of developing a theology for becoming a fully inclusive, independent church and leading community in the W/ Collective.
As a founding staff member of a church plant, Jen created systems and programming for ministry teams, small groups, community service, and women's ministries. She's passionate about coaching support staff who are navigating the path of leading others while finding their own voices within a team. She's especially interested in coaching women leaders, new preachers, and anyone interested in developing an authentic sense of community and justice.
In the summer of 2017 Jen, her husband, and toddler son, made the difficult decision to relocate to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she is now earning her Master of Divinity at Christian Theological Seminary with certificates in Yoga & Spirituality and Marriage & Family Studies. She received a full scholarship and stipend to pursue her education thanks to the Lily Endowment and The Discipleship Project. While in school full-time, she continues to serve as a Co-Director of Launchpad and as the Events Team Coordinator of W/ Collective.
She has an extensive professional background in producing, event management, and nonprofit leadership in NYC and around the country. An artist at heart, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater Performance from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a certificate in Shakespeare studies from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
