Administrative and Communications Assistant
Position Summary: The Admin/Comms. Assistant furthers the welcoming mission of CMF by facilitating internal and external communications and administrative tasks. These include but are not limited to: managing our online presence (website, social media) in collaboration with the Pastor and Church Council, creating and distributing weekly emails, bulletins and other communication materials, and office management (organization and maintenance of the church’s database and files).
This position is part-time, approximately 10-12 hours per week, and reports to the Pastor.
Strong editorial, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
Proficiency with graphic/visual software programs (e.g. Microsoft Publisher/PowerPoint, Canva, Google Slides, or Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
Ability to work independently, prioritize daily workload, take direction
Willing to acquire new technical skills as needed
Demonstrates a high level of trust
Genuinely enjoys the work being done
Manage CMF’s online presence, in collaboration with the Pastor and Church Council, through the following:
Weekly emails via MailChimp (or similar mass-mailing platform)
Website maintenance/upkeep (announcements, posts, and calendar of events)
Social media posts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
Upkeep on streaming video services
Uploading sermon audio clips to website and other platforms
Design, lay out, and distribute online and print-ready bulletins
Maintain office equipment, supplies, records of office/equipment vendors
Organize and maintain the church database, including new members, covenant signers, and financial pledges.
Ensure CMF’s physical/digital office is in order, including phone and email monitoring, mail distribution, maintaining proper files online or in physical form, etc
Maintain church calendar of events and schedule use of facilities.
Assist with worship preparation (send email worship updates to participants and congregation during the week prior to service)
Assist Church Council with the following:
Distribution of reports and minutes of meetings as needed
Creating, sending, and tabulating results of surveys
Maintaining church’s Google Drive
Scheduling Zoom meetings
Facilitating other committees’ needs, including access to files or CMF’s Zoom account.
Compiling minutes and notes from annual and congregational meetings.
Compile and distribute an up-to-date directory (twice annually), annual report, committee slates, and volunteer survey.
Other duties as assigned.
This position is part-time, 10-12 hours weekly, and reports to the Pastor.
$15-17/hr., commensurate with experience.
Due to the nature of COVID, along with the essential work required, we are considering candidates willing to work fully remote, partially remote, or in person. (Subject to change once COVID subsides)
